The FATALnet Tech Toolkit is built on Debian 12 (“bookworm”, amd64) with Debian’s live-build, plus well-known tools installed from the Debian archive and the Proxmox package repository. It also includes some non-free firmware for hardware (Wi-Fi and GPU) support, so it is Debian-based rather than exclusively open-source. Every operating-system and tool package is a stock, unmodified upstream package, we do not patch, recompile, or rebuild any of them. License and notice files are included on the build itself.

How to get the source

For any GPL or copyleft component, you can obtain the complete, corresponding source for the exact version shipped:

  • Debian packages. The operating system and most tools are stock Debian packages. Debian publishes the full source for every package at every version, archived permanently at snapshot.debian.org. The exact package names and versions in a given release are listed in the package manifest, which you can download below.
  • Proxmox Backup Client. The proxmox-backup-client tool is provided by Proxmox under the AGPLv3; its source is published by Proxmox at git.proxmox.com.
  • The FATALnet menu app. The on-screen launcher that runs the tools is our own first-party software. It calls each tool as a separate command-line program (aggregation), so it is not a derivative of those tools. Its source is included on the device under /sources/, and you can download it below.
